Making a no-sew blanket

Hi - I made a short video about how I make no-sew blankets with a nice finished edge that lays flat. I use anywhere from a yard (small dog/cat) to a yard and a half (large dog). JoAnn's usually has fleece remnants on discount that work well!

CROCHETED EDGE FLEECE BLANKET INSTRUCTIONS

Crocheted edges on a fleece blanket can provide something extra pretty and give your sewing machine a break from gathering all that fuzz inside. There are lots of different ways to do an edge like this, so please, experiment and if you find something that you really like please share it with us! You can email it to wilartisanswithamission@gmail. com or share it on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/groups/artisanswithamission. The downloadable instructions include a gallery of photos at the end for inspiration. A special thank you to Shutters for Shelters for this featured photo. Beautiful!

Snuggle Sack

What is a snuggle sack? Glad you asked! If you or someone you know has a dachshund then you know they just LOVE to burrow into blankets. A snuggle sack is exactly what it sounds like. It's a small sack that they can safely burrow into and easily get back out. What a great idea!

Please note that there is no actual physical pattern since this is made from rectangular cuts of fabric sewn together. All you need is fabric and a way to measure to make your own pattern.

Drag Bags

When an animal suffers an injury or genetic abnormality at the back of their body, they often get "wheels" to help them motor around. They can't live constantly strapped into their wheels. To prevent wounds from dragging their back end around, some very smart people came up with the idea of drag bags. They work well with diapers and/or belly bands and protect the animal's legs from chafing and developing open sores.
